Obituary for Dennis R. Bailey

Dennis R. Bailey, 71, of Mertztown, died Friday, April 23, 2021, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he was a patient since Monday.  Born in Allentown, Dennis was a son of the late Paul J. and Mildred E. (Merkel) Bailey.

Dennis first was employed on the assembly line for Caloric Corporation, at its former Topton plant; then as a line painter for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, until his retirement in 2009.  

Dennis was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 839, Kutztown; and Kutztown Rod & Gun Club, Kutztown; where he was involved in organizing many Hausey Card Tounaments and Texas Hold'em Tournaments.

Dennis is survived by two sisters: Sonja M. (Bailey) widow of William E. Riegel, Kutztown; and Carol A. (Bailey) widow of William E. Kocher, Kutztown.  Other survivors include a niece, Brenda L. (Kocher), wife of Brian T. Boyer; nephews, Matthew B. Riegel and Ryan E., husband of Becky (Juckett) Riegel and great nieces Kiersty L. (Boyer), wife of Adam T. Fritch, Bella R. Riegel and Kaity P. Broton and great nephews Travis S., husband of Arielle M. (McCleary) Boyer and Bennett C. Riegel.  There is also a great-great niece Brooklyn L. Fritch and great-great nephew Bentley C. Fritch.

At Dennis' request there will no be public services.  Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family.
