Obituary for Cpl. McKaide R. Fenstermacher

Corporal McKaide Richard Fenstermacher, U.S. Marine Corps, 24, of Barto, was taken away from his loved ones way too soon as a result of a tragic automobile accident on Tuesday night, March 2, 2021 in Mertztown, PA. 

Born in Allentown, McKaide was a son of Robert J. Fenstermacher of Mertztown and Danita A. (Carl) Fenstermacher of Topton and was a precious gift from God. Growing up in the Topton area, McKaide was a 2015 graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, Mertztown, and was involved with several sports teams including soccer, basketball, wrestling and baseball throughout the years. While attending high school, McKaide worked at Crystal Cave near Kutztown. After his graduation, he enlisted into The United States Marine Corps., which changed his life for the better. He was stationed at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in California but was deployed to Japan and Thailand during his four years of service to his country. While in The Marine Corps, McKaide was studying to be a Combat Engineer. He was and will forever be a proud Marine.

After being discharged and moving back to PA, McKaide began working for Miller Bros. Construction in Conshohocken for the last year and most recently purchased a home in Barto. McKaide accomplished so much in his short time and he loved his family and friends unconditionally. He always went the extra mile for those he cared about, was a humanitarian and true example to live by. His infectious smile, caring personality and heart of gold will be missed by so many. He will now be the ultimate guardian and perfect angel. 

McKaide leaves behind his mother, Danita and step-father, Rich; father, Robert and step-mother, Mary; girlfriend, Josephine Hettrick; two brothers, Zach W., husband of Kristina L. (Borden) Fenstermacher, Mertztown and Logan M. Fenstermacher, and girlfriend, Amanda Spurgin, Blandon; nephew and nieces, Landen J., Morgan T. and Evelyn R. Fenstermacher; maternal grandfather, Richard G. Carl, Mertztown, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Goldie A. (Heffner) Carl; and paternal grandparents, William G. and Evelyn V. (Brensinger) Fenstermacher.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 50 Luther Drive, Mertztown, PA, followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Sassaman officiating. Current CDC social distancing guidelines will be followed and masks must be worn.

Military honors provided by The United States Marine Corps and Ray A. Master Post 217, American Legion Honor Guard, Topton, will conclude services. Burial will be held privately by his family.
