Obituary for Mr. Dallas David Schleicher

Dallas David Schleicher, 83, of Maidencreek Township, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2021 in his residence. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Ruth) Schleicher whom he married on April 16, 1977.

Born in Topton, Dallas was a son of the late Paul R. and Myrtle M. (Dierolf) Schleicher. He attended Kutztown High School and honorably and faithfully served his country in The United States Marine Corps., having been stationed at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base. Dallas worked for John Smith Roofing, but for the majority of his career, he was employed by Dana Corporation, working as a welder and maintenance person for over 37 years.

Dallas was a member of Lyons Fire Company and Kutztown Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed spending time around his home; gardening, planting flowers and tinkering with his tractor. He also had a love for animals; beagles, pigeons, peacocks, and exotic birds; as well as the great outdoors. Dallas was an accomplished hunter and deep sea fisherman taking trips to Canada and Newfoundland to go moose and bear hunting.

In addition to his wife Barbara, Dallas is survived by his son, Gregory D. Wood, Alburtis; grandson, David C. Wood, Richlands, NC; daughter-in-law and close friend, Ann E. (Brewer) Wood, Jackson, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley M. (Ruth) and John M. Lindemuth, Exeter Twp.; as well as several nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, Dallas was predeceased by his siblings, Jeannette, Paul, Robert "Bobby", Richard "Dickie", Althea "Betty", Leonard and Ellen.

Graveside funeral services will be held privately in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton, PA with Pastor David Reinwald officiating.
