Obituary for Isabelle Sitzer Costine Posypanko
Isabelle S. Posypanko, 82, died on November 4, 2009 after a 19 year battle with cancer. She was born on October 2,1927 to the late Gordon and Anna Sherer Sitzer of Millbrook, N.Y. in the house she grew up in. Isabelle was very proud of her farming background. She went through 8th grade in a one room schoolhouse in Millbrook and graduated in 1945 from Millbrook High School. She was a 1948 graduate of Vassar Brothers Hospital School of Nursing, Poughkeepsie, NY.where she worked for 20 years. She also did work for doctors in their private practices. She was an active member with her husband of Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church in Ansonia. She was predeceased by her former husband Maurice P. Costine; infants, Maurice Allen Costine and Louise Ann Costine, her sister Ida Morris and her brother L. Woodrow Sitzer. Isabelle is survived by her loving husband and soul mate of 35 years Peter Posypanko of Oxford; two daughters, Carol Anne Costine of Seymour and Cynthia S. Young and her husband William of Shelton; a stepdaughter Susan Cazetano and her husband Robert of Woodbridge; four grandchildren Jennifer Caetano and her fiance Alan Gagne of Oxford, Michael Caetano of Woodbridge, Collin W. Young and Preston J. Young both of Shelton and her loving niece Ida DuPaul and her husband Eugene of Oxford; several nieces and nephews and her special friend Patricia Selbert of Summerville, N.J. She was a second mom to many of her children's friends and extended family members. Funeral service will be held on Saturday November 7th ath the Three Saints Russian Orthodox Church. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, Seymour is entrusted with the arrangements.
