Obituary for Mr. Kenneth R. Angstadt
Kenneth R. Angstadt, of Mertztown passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2021 in the inpatient hospice unit of Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Dianne E. (Maurer) Angstadt. They celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in December of 2020.
Born in Mertztown, Kenny was the son of the late Clarence and Clara (Warmkessel) Angstadt. He was a member of Zions Union Church in Maxatawny. Kenny worked as a truck driver at Packaging Corporation of America for 45 years, retiring in 2004. After his retirement he worked seasonally at Four Seasons Garden Center in Breinigsville. Kenny spent many hours mowing grass for friends and family. He enjoyed watching the Phillies and having breakfast at Jaks Diner in Topton. He looked forward to Friday night cards with Chuttie and the girls. He will be missed by his entire family, especially his cat, Buddy.
In addition to his wife Dianne, Kenny is survived by his three daughters, Lori L. Angstadt, partner of Donna Kalp of Fogelsville, Lisa R., wife of Kevin Zerwick of Bowers, Lani L., wife of George Weller of Bowers; three grandchildren, Matthew (Jennifer) Weller, Colleen (Kenneth) Bungarz, and Robert (Ashlynn) Zerwick. He also had five great-grandchildren, Kenny, Cassidy & Calvin Bungarz, Penelope Zerwick, Emerson Weller and his future sibling due in March. He is also survived by his sisters Anna Mae Reinhard and Christine Kline and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Along with his parents, Kenny was predeceased by his brothers, Willard and Paul Angstadt; his sisters, Ruth Dierolf and Rachel Angstadt; and his mother-in-law, Edna (Reppert) Maurer who died on February 2, 2021.
A public viewing will be held on Sunday afternoon, February 14, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA.
A private funeral service to celebrate and honor Kenny's life will be held on Monday morning with Reverend Jeffrey J. Butz officiating. Burial will follow the services in Zion Maxatawny Union Cemetery, Kutztown (Maxatawny Township).
