Obituary for Mr Carl Ray Einsig

Carl Ray Einsig, age 85, passed away on January 7, 2021 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Mildred L. (Craft) Einsig; in November they shared 60 years of marriage. Carl was born in York on June 7, 1935 and was the son of the late Albert and Katherine (Gotwalt) Einsig. Carl went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. He spent most of his life as a machine operator before retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating, as well as spending time at the mountains in his hand-built cabin. He was a member of the Moose Club, the McSherrystown Fish and Game Club, the Spring Grove and West York VFW, the Viking Club, and the Hanover Eagles. In addition to his wife Mildred, Carl is survived by his daughters Carol Montony and husband Steve, Carla Jackson and husband Joel, and Carol Einsig; his son Carl Einsig II and wife Laura; his grandchildren Steve Montony, Andrea Finnegan and husband Ryan, Courtney Gusthoven and husband Tim, Adrienne Lerro and husband Dan, Carl Einsig III and fiancé Justice, and Hunter Einsig; and his great-grandchildren Leo, Crosby, Jimmy, Regan, Brody, and Ariana. He is also survived by his brothers Jack, Clifford, and Franklin; his sisters Geraldine Bowers and Barbara Sieple; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Albret, Richard, and James; and his sisters Dorothy Hudson, Carry Green, Norma Mylin, and Mary Shaffer. A viewing will be held on Friday from 10:00-11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. 175 N. Main St. Spring Grove PA 17362. The service will be held privately for the family. Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery with military honors being provided by the York County Veteran’s honorguard. Due to COVID-19 guidelines and in compliance with health and public safety directives, those attending the viewing will be required to wear masks and social distance. Attendance inside the funeral home will be limited to 20 people at a time. In lieu of flowers, contribution in Carl’s memory can be made to your local Veteran’s organization.
