Obituary for Mr. Stephen E. Switter

Stephen E. Switter, age 77, of Stratford, beloved husband of Regina Loch Switter, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2018 in Connecticut Hospice with his loving family by his side. Stephen was born on March 27, 1941 in Bridgeport and was the son of the late Stephen and Catherine Gaeta Switter. He was a native of Southport, CT and enjoyed antiques, trains, coins, sports memorabilia and cheering for the New York Yankees. Stephen was the proprietor of Fairfield Coin Shop in Fairfield for many years, he was a founding member and an associate treasurer of Word of God Christian Church, and he was retired from Fairfield University's Public Safety Department. He cherished spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. Stephen is survived by his wife, Regina of 45 years, four children, Stephen Switter and wife, Marguerite of Stratford, Edward Switter and wife, Jill of Norwalk, Stephanie Ames and husband, Bryan of Northford and Michael Switter of Stratford, four granddaughters, Madison, Emily, Eden and Elora and several cousins and nieces. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 6:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Diane Jones and Assistant Minister William Feher, in the Galello-Luchansky Funeral Home, 2220 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
