Obituary for Virginia A Hoy


Virginia A. Hoy, 79, of Auburn, passed away March 17 at her daughter's home in Palmyra where she resided since May.

Born March 27, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Dreisbach Brommer and the widow of Guy L. Hoy Jr., to whom she was married to for nearly 50 years. Virginia graduated from Auburn High School in 1956.

Virginia was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church Auburn; a charter member and past mother advisor of Pottsville Assembly 75 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, and a past matron of Orwigsburg Chapter 424; and a past district deputy grand matron Order of Eastern Star. She was also a life member of the Auburn Historical Society.

She leaves behind three daughters, Cheryl, widow of Joseph Bender, Schuylkill Haven, Leslie, wife of John Bacigalupi, Southbury, Conn., and Marsha, wife of Scott Lux, Palmyra; two granddaughters, Lauren Bacigalupi, Morrisville, N.C., and Kristen Bacigalupi, a student at Virginia Tech; three sisters, Barbara Guers, Reading, Elaine Kilmer, Auburn, and Frances Wink, Auburn; a brother, Aaron Brommer, Auburn.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Grabowski Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. Eastern Star Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday followed immediately by funeral services at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends are welcome from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services. Interment will follow the services on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
