Obituary for Sharon Chiero Leahey

Sharon E. Leahey, age 67, entered into the Lord’s rest on December 24, 2017 at her home in Ansonia after spending Christmas eve with her family. She was the beloved wife and caregiver of the late Thomas Leahey. She was born in Milford on November 14, 1950 the daughter of the late Frederick J. Chiero and Irene May (Pickering) McCall. Sharon worked as a recreational therapist and home health care worker for many years before her retirement. She loved Jesus, playing the guitar, making crafts, baking treats, soy-free bread and time with her family and friends. She is survived by her children Janine, Benjamen and his wife April, Jamie and his wife Teresa, her granddaughter Vivian, and her brothers Richard, Fred, Brian, and Lee Chiero, sister, Terry and their families. Friends are invited to greet Sharon’s family on Friday January 5 from 4 to 6 pm in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. Her funeral service will be held in the parlor at 6 pm.
