Obituary for James L Kunovich

JAMES L. KUNOVICH PLUM, PA. – James L. Kunovich, 70, formerly of Youngstown, passed away peacefully at home, on Sunday, July 30, 2017. Born in Youngstown on Oct. 11, 1946, he was a 1964 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. Jim was a Sergeant in the U.S.M.C., having served in Vietnam, and was a member of the American Legion, as well as the V.F.W. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and a champion archer, belonging to and competing in many archery clubs. He was also a Cleveland Browns fan, even though he resided in Pennsylvania. Jim was employed as a supervisor of electricians in various nuclear power plants throughout the contingent United States and retired after 35 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Kunovich of Youngstown and Katherine Popovich Kunovich of McDonald; and his wife of 30 years, Sondra Koen Kunovich of Plum. He is survived by his son, Louis J. Kunovich and companion Brooke of Youngstown; stepmother Jolene Kunovich of Boardman; sisters Joan Arp of Girard and Maureen (Rink) Perrico of Las Vegas; niece Kelly Hontula of Girard; nephews Brian and David Perrico of Las Vegas and Mark Arp of Hermitage, Pa.; and his high school sweetheart and companion, Patsy Tadla of McDonald. In accordance with his wishes, a memorial service will be held at Greenhaven Cemetery in Ohio on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at 11 a.m
