Obituary for Ronald C Loree

RONALD CHARLES LOREE “Together Again” YOUNGSTOWN – There will be funeral services held on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market St. in Boardman for Ronald Charles Loree, 78, who passed away Friday evening, July 14, 2017, at Beeghly Oaks. “Ron” was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Youngstown, the son of the late Louis and Agnes (Bannon) Loree, and was a lifelong area resident. Ron was a proud U.S. Army veteran, where he earned the rank of specialist (E-4) and served from 1958 through 1966, during the Vietnam War. He then continued to serve his country by serving in the National Guard for three years. Ron worked for Royal Crown Distributors in Youngstown, as a delivery driver and later, worked for General Motors in Lordstown on the assembly line, retiring in 1981.

He enjoyed doing word seek puzzles and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan. Ron leaves behind his daughter, Letty A. Loree of Youngstown; son-in-law Ed Martines of Boardman; and two nephews, Joseph W. (Patrice) Loree Jr. of Poland and Robert L. (Vicky) Loree of Boardman. Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, the former Martina C. Malik, whom he married on May 30, 1959, and who passed away on Aug. 24, 1997; a daughter, Lorraine A. Martines; a brother, Joseph W. Loree Sr.; and a nephew, Timothy J. Loree. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, July 22, 2017, from 9:30 until 10:25 a.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield, with full military honors provided by the great men of the VFW Ellsworth and Army.
