Obituary for Muriel S Dorn
MURIEL SPRAGUE DORN
SALEM - Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 12, at noon at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel, 65 N. Broad St., for Muriel Sprague Dorn, 89, who died Saturday morning at Circle of Care in Salem.
Muriel was born Nov. 25, 1927, in South Portland, Maine, a daughter of the late Harvey and Edna Sprague Hooper, and came to this area in 1948.
She was a longtime member of the First Church of the Nazarene where she had taught Sunday school and Bible studies.
Muriel enjoyed scrap booking and keeping daily journals of special memories. She leaves her husband, James D. Dorn, whom she married Nov. 15, 1948; three sons, David (Jo-Ann) Dorn Sr. of St. Augustine, Fla., Edward Dorn of Edinburg, Pa. and Thomas (Julie) Dorn of Columbiana; one daughter, Diana DeJane of Hanoverton; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Besides her parents, Muriel was preceded in death by one brother, Darryl Hooper; and four sisters, Helen Pinkham, Leona Hooper, Millicent Daggett and Marilyn Hooper. Friends may call from 11 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of the service at noon at the funeral home.
