Obituary for Anthony J. Yamokoski

Anthony "Tony" J. Yamokoski CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Anthony "Tony" J. Yamokoski, 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 21, 2017. Born in Kent on May 22, 1928 to the late Antoni and Helena Yamokoski, Tony was a Cuyahoga Falls resident for over 63 years. He was a 1946 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School. Tony worked as a Master Toolmaker for over 50 years for Superior Mold and Die. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls. Tony was a devoted and loving family man and doted on his grandchildren until the end of his life. He was a master craftsman and woodworker, crafting wooden toys and furniture for his grandchildren and friends. Tony enjoyed his daily walks with his faithful companion Muzzy. In addition to his parents; Tony was preceded in death by the one true love of his life, Irene (Olesky) in 2001; grandson, Ian Houk; brothers, Charles, Alex, and Paul. He is survived by his children, Margaret (Jeffrey) Lindenberger, Susan (Jeffrey) Sherrin, and Michael (Sandy) Yamokoski; brother, Stanley Yamokoski, DDS; and sister-in-law, Ann Berger; grandchildren, Meghan (Scott) Volchko, Daniel Lindenberger, Stephanie (Nick) Mahalec, Steven (Becca) Sherrin, and Kevin Sherrin. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 2 to 5 p.m., at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, 247 Stow Ave. (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in) Cuyahoga Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Steve Brunovsky on Monday, 9:30 a.m., at St. Hilary Catholic Church on W. Market St. in Akron. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributiuons may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087.
