Obituary for Wesley Britton Burke

Wesley Britton Burke, 68, of Devon, PA, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Paoli Memorial Hospital.

He was born April 13, 1949 in Wynnewood, PA, raised in Havertown and Newtown Square, PA. He was an active and the longest attending member of the Manoa Community Church. Wesley was a friend to all and always sought out the good in everyone. He will be remembered as a kind and giving person from feeding the homeless to opening his home to refugee families.

Wesley was the king of going overboard on holidays, an avid pool and hot tub lounging enthusiast, and a captivating story teller. He lived his life happily and without apologies as illustrated in his love of ice cream, boisterously singing the oldies for all to enjoy, and most of all his wonderful sense of humor.

Son of the late Roger H., Sr. and Elsie V. Burke, Wesley is survived by his children David (Susie), Wesley (Yuefung), James (Melanie), Kathrine (Walter) Walker, Michael (Sarah), Scott, and Meghan Jend; grandsons Devin, Justin, and Kaleb; sister Janice (Len); as well as many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held at 10 AM, Monday, July 3 at Manoa Community Church, 153 N. Eagle Rd., Havertown, PA 19083, followed by Service at 11 AM.

Wesley will be laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill, PA, followed by a celebration of his life at Manoa Community Church.
