John Ellis, Jr went home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 27, 2017. He was born April 15, 1964 to John Ellis, Sr. and Athara Ellis.He attended Akron Public Schools graduating from John R. Buchtel High School in 1983. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ludie McCullough and Charles and Esmoline Ellis. He is survived by his parents, John Ellis, Sr. (Joyce) and Athara Ellis, Russellville, AL; brothers, Arthur McCullough, Sr and Jerry Ellis; sisters, Ann Reynolds, Barbara McCullough, Debra Ellis, Shelly Ellis, Shelby Nicholson (Terry) and Erika Heller; and a host of relatives and friends.Celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 12 Noon at Peoples Baptist Church, 525 V. Odom Blvd, Akron, OH 44307, Pastor James McWain eulogizing. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service.
