Obituary for Andrew Jr. Bartha

ANDREW M. BARTHA JR CONROE, TEXAS – Andrew M. Bartha Jr., 100, formerly of the Youngstown area, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017, in Conroe. Born Jan. 18, 1917, in Connersville, he was the son of Andrew Sr. and Margaret Bartha. Andy graduated from Chaney High School in 1936, and then went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Army-Air Corp during World War II. He worked for Bell Transit for 40 years. He married Jean Dixon in 1952, and they were married until her death in 1971. In 1979, he married Rosemarie Walker, and they were together until her death in 2007. Andy enjoyed working in the garden and going camping and fishing in Canada and Florida. He spent many winters in Florida. He was active in the Boy Scouts Troop 84, earning many awards in hiking, camping, and canoeing. He also served as a troop supervisor at Camp Stambaugh earning the Stambaugh Tribe Award. He was a member of the Austintown Community Church for more than 50 years, serving as a deacon, usher, and other duties. Survivors include his children, William (Diane) Bartha of Youngstown, Sue (John) Hoschar of Cape Coral, Fla., and Andrea (John) White and Margaret (Neil) Coleman, both of Spring, Texas; step-daughters Marian Martin of Girard, Barb Dickson of Brookfield, Fla., Laraine (Carl) Smith of Bloomingdale, and Rosemary (Dallas) Staton of Youngstown; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Besides his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Ann Margaret Stanislaw and Helen Bistarkey; and a grand-daughter Danille Dickson. Friends will be received at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m., where services will take place on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens
