Obituary for Jean A Macaulay

JEAN A. MACAULAY GREEN – Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Western Reserve United Methodist Church in Canfield for Jean A. Macaulay, 92, who passed away Friday morning at Green View Assisted Living in Green. Mrs. Macaulay was born Jan. 16, 1925, in Altoona, Pa., the daughter of Harry and Frances Stahl Kester. In 1939, her family moved to Youngstown where Jean graduated from South High School. Following graduation, she worked for several years as the secretary to the principal at Bennett School. Jean was a member of the Western Reserve United Methodist Church and the Christian Fellowship Sunday school class.

Over the years, Jean was the caretaker for a number of family members and enjoyed cooking and baking pies and cookies for her family. Her husband, Lamont “Mac” Macaulay, whom she married in 1947, died Oct. 6, 2009. Jean leaves her son, Harry (Kathy) Macaulay of Jacksonville, Fla.; her son-in-law, Mark Fearigo of Green; grandchildren, Anna and Evan Macaulay and Miranda and Andrew Fearigo; and great-granddaughter, Freya Macaulay. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Joy Fearigo; and her brothers, Fred and Merle Kester. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman and Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield. The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to the church Memorial Fund, Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, OH 44406
