Obituary for Paul G Schobel

PAUL G. SCHOBEL AUSTINTOWN – Paul G. Schobel, 76, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at 1:15 p.m., at his home, with his loved ones by his side. Paul was born on Nov. 24, 1940, in Chicago, a son of the late, John and Sarah (Roth) Schobel. Paul graduated from Berlin Center High School in 1958. He worked for over 40 years as a mechanic and truck driver at General Motors. Paul was a member and a past Master of the Meander Lodge F.&A.M.

He would spend countless hours working on cars, as this was his true passion. His most precious memories were spent with his grandchildren whom he loved and adored. He leaves behind his wife, the love of his life and best friend, Barbara Schobel, whom he married on Oct. 20, 1962. He also leaves behind his three sons, Michael Schobel of Florida, Steven Schobel of Columbus, and Richard Schobel of Austintown; four grandchildren, Brittany, Hannah, Zander, and Brynna; two great-granddaughters, Olivia and Arabella; and two siblings, a twin brother, Ed (Donna) Schobel, and a sister, Gretchen (Roland) Barnhouse.
Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a brother, John. Private services and interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. The family would like to send a special thanks to MVI Homecare and Hospice, especially Paul’s nurses, Liz, Nick and Stacie, for all the love and compassion they gave Paul during his time of need. Care has been entrusted to the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel.
