Obituary for Carolyn Sandquist

CAROLYN VANDA SANDQUIST NORTH JACKSON - Carolyn Vanda Sandquist, 89, died on Dec. 22, 2016, at the Antonine Village in North Jackson. Born Feb. 16, 1927, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of John and Eleanor (Ford) Guerrier. On June 17, 1948, she married her husband, William Sandquist. Mrs. Sandquist was a member of St. Christine Parish and enjoyed gambling and going to Las Vegas. Survivors include her daughter, Paula (Richard) Kotel of Canfield; son John C. (Susan) Sandquist of Canfield; grandchildren Trisha (Jason) Furrie, Michele (Chris) Inglis, Jennifer (James Ciaccio) Rizer, Shannon (Marc) Presley, John (Tammy) Sandquist Jr., and Scott Sandquist; six great-grandchildren; and sisters Patricia Colonna and Joyce (James) Zarlenga. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, William Sandquist; and sister Joan Gollner.

The family would like to thank the Sisters and the nurses of the Antonine Village for their loving care. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., with Father John Keehner officiating. Entombment will follow at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the church from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning. Memorial contributions can be made to the Antonine Sisters.
