CHARLES A. ''CHARLIE'' LIND STRUTHERS - A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at 9:30 a.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc. and at 10 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish, St. Nicholas Church for Charles A. “Charlie” Lind, 82, who passed away on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, with his son and daughter by his side. Charles was born in New Albany, Ind. on Dec. 6, 1934, son of the late Emil and Crescentia (Schmeltz) Lind. He was a member at St. Nicholas Church where he was an adult server, he served in the U.S. Army in Korea, he enjoyed gardening, was an avid NASCAR fan, but most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren
. Charles worked for Team Transport in Warrendale, Pa., and Frattaroli’s Sparkle Market in Struthers and New Middletown. He is survived by his sons, Charles Edward (Linda) Lind of Clarksville, Ind. and Stephen Andrew Lind of Campbell; three daughters, Tonya Bartram of East Liverpool, Karinda (Terry) Ferrick and Crescentia Ann Lind, both of Struthers; his sister, MaryAnn Denbolearn of Easley, S.C.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy L. (Mikeals) Lind, whom he married on Feb. 14, 1970, and she died on May 29, 2007; and his son, Lawrence Lind, who died July 15, 2016. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Kirila Funeral Home Inc. in Struthers. Burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley. Charles was loved by all that knew him, he will be sadly missed.
