Obituary for MAMIE MARIE MIDDOUR

March 17, 1934 - October 24, 2016

Mamie Middour, 82, passed away on October 24, 2016 at home. The Cremation Society of Iowa assisted in a simple cremation.  Mamie moved on to meet her beloved husband Danny to whom she married Jan. 9, 1956.

Mamie was born in Des Moines to Clifford and Lola Taylor.  Mamie was from a family of 2 brothers and 4 sisters.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband Daniel, father and mother, 2 brothers Milford and Don Taylor and 2 sisters Margaret Mayhugh and Betty Miller.

Mamie raised her 2 daughters Linda (Donald Doyle) Neff of Des Moines and Maralyne (Jim Jerrett) Middour of Lander, WY.  She has 1 granddaughter Kelly (Marcus) Tyler of Bondurant.  She is also survived by 2 sisters Clara Fitzgerald of Des Moines and Emma Robinson of Pittsburg, KS and many nieces and nephews.

Mamie was a homemaker and loving wife and mother.  Her and Danny were inseparable.  They both loved fishing, mushroom hunting and picking black walnut.  They did recycling of aluminum and copper for extra cash, they called "minnow money".

Mamie became a member of the BPO Does, Drove #25, IA. in 1998.  She was an active member until her health failed.  She had the honor of being Doe of the year in 2001.

Mamie will be missed by her family and friends.

There will be a BPO Does services at the Elks 98 Lodge, 5420 NE 12th Ave., Pleasant Hill, IA with a dinner to follow Sunday, October 30, 2016 at 3:00pm.

Mamie will be placed next to Danny at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 2:00pm.

Mamie wanted any Memorial contributions to be made to the BPO Does #25 to be used towards their charitable funds.
