Geneva Patricia Mabry "Patti", "G. Patti" On October 17, 2016, our Lord and Savior called home one of his faithful servants.Geneva Patricia Mabry "Patti", "G. Patti", 79, was born October 13th, 1937, in Akron, OH, to the union of the late Joseph and Nina Gillespie.Patti was a lifelong resident of Akron, OH, attending Robinson Elementary School, Goodyear Junior High School, and East High School. She graduated from Livingstone College in 1960, and began teaching for Akron Public Schools in 1961, for a span of 34 years, teaching at Crosby, Guinther, Hatton, and lastly SchuPatti was a faithful, lifelong member of Wesley Temple AME Zion Church, where she served on Parent Body Missionary, Lay Council, Children''s Board, Steward Board, and a longtime member of the Gospel Choir. Patti was also an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, where she truly enjoyed assisting with Little Miss Fashionetta. Also; she was an avid CLEVELAND CAVALIERS fan and a member of the Lebron James Grandmother''s Club. Patti was actively involved with all until her illness slowed her down.She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Theodis Mabry; son, Patrick Theodis Mabry; daughter, Shelby Ellen Mabry; her grandchildren, Da''Mere Boddie and Madison Camille Mabry; sister, Kathryn Boykin and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 12 noon at Wesley Temple AME Zion Church 104 N. Prospect Street, Akron, Ohio 44304. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Charles Tyler, officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Alpha Kappa Alpha service will begin at 10:45 a.m. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 870 Hartford Ave. Akron, Ohio 44320. . Mrs. Mabry loved teaching and her students.
