Obituary for Elaine Morgenstern

ELAINE LOUISE MORGENSTERN CANFIELD - Elaine Louise Morgenstern, 69, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening at Hospice House of Poland. Elaine was born Jan. 10, 1947, in Homestead, Pa., a daughter of the late John Allen and Stella Frances Gursky Woods. She graduated from Homestead High School in 1964, and had attended Youngstown State University. Elaine received her Lab Technician Degree and had worked as a certified lab technician and supervisor for Forum Health for more than 30 years. Elaine was a very loving and caring person and was always willing to help those in need, whether it be a warm place to stay, or to provide a meal to a family or a home for lost dogs. She always cared about the well-being of everyone else before herself. Elaine enjoyed flowers and gardening and loved to travel, especially to Alaska, Hawaii and out West. Her husband, William E. Morgenstern, whom she married in 1971, died in 1992. She leaves a brother, William Woods of Hubbard; a sister, Theresa Gualtieri of Jefferson Hills, Pa.; and nieces and nephews John Woods, Frank Gualtieri, Maria Bowers, Anthony Gualtieri, Amber Woods, Alex Bowers, Charlotte Bowers, Crystal Gualtieri, James Finlen and Michael Finlen. Besides her parents and her husband, Elaine was preceded in death by a brother, Edward John Woods; and a nephew, Justin Woods. Elaine had touched a lot of lives, making this world a better place and will be greatly missed.
