Obituary for Amy Nanosky

AMY A. NANOSKY NEW SPRINGFIELD – Amy A. Nanosky, 90, passed away on Aug. 21, 2016, from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. Amy was born in Meridian, Miss. on Jan. 7, 1926, a daughter of Oscar and Maebelle Moore. She graduated from Meridian High School in 1943, and married her husband, John Nanosky, an Air Force corporal, in November of 1944. Amy did secretarial and bookkeeping work at A-1 Optical for many years, where she also served as vice-president of the company. After retiring from there she worked part-time for New York Life Insurance Company. She was a member of the Evangel Baptist Church, where she served for a time on the mission board. Amy also taught a weekly Bible study at her home.
Besides her husband, Amy leaves her son, Mickey (Linda) Nanosky of Kinsman; one daughter, Janis (Phil) Barth of Poland; one brother, Leland Moore of Meridian, Miss.; and five grandsons, Ron (Kim), Nick and Scott Nanosky, and Greg and Brian Barth; and two great-grandchildren, Elijah Barth and Scarlett Nanosky. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Audrey Radke; and four brothers, Lofton, Bernard, Cecil, and Willard Moore. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at the Evangel Baptist Church, 5248 Southern Blvd., with Pastor Randy Brunko officiating.
