Obituary for Vernon T. Scott
VERNON T. SCOTT JR STRUTHERS – Services will be on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at noon at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers for Vernon T. Scott Jr., 79, who passed away on Friday at his residence after a long illness in the presence of his family. Vernon was born May 27, 1937, in Canfield, a son of Vernon T. Sr. and Isabelle R. Davis Scott. He was a lifelong area resident and worked in sales for Sheely’s furniture store for 20 years.
He was a founding member of the New Life Assembly of God Church in Poland. Vernon married Carol Ann Prontka on May 20, 1961, and she passed away Feb. 15, 2001. He leaves his sons, Vernon T. (Maggie) Scott III, Dwayne, Shawn and Jason; and one daughter, Ellissa (Rob Greenaway) Scott; one stepsister, Lucille Ann Mullins; as well as 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Christopher Scott; one daughter, Vanessa Scott; one brother, Ernest Scott; and one sister, Anna Paine.
Friends may call two hours before the service at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon.
