Harris-Lewis "Madea" was born May 5, 1929 to the late Henry and Annie Lewis in Wetumpka, Ala.She was preceded in death by her son, James (Bobby) Hunt; husband, George Harris; great-grandson, Romen Harris; sister, Bertha Lewis; brothers, Rogers, James, Ocie and Richard Lewis and cousin/sister Lula Moore.She was a long-standing member of St. Thomas Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor T.H. Bell. She later joined the New Hope Baptist Church under the late Pastor Bennie Williams, after which she followed her grandson (Pastor Jones) upon his elevation to pastor at the Akron Missionary Baptist Church.She was employed at J.C. Penney (Wooster Hawkins Plaza) for many years; Kent State University and retired from Ramada Inn (Arlington Road).Left to cherish her memory, daughters, Albertha Walker; Georgia (Rev. Lavorn-deceased) Merryweather, Rowena (Clarence-deceased) Coker; son-in-law, Robert Walker; grandchildren, Andrea Alisa (Rev. William) Jones, Robert Jr. and Brandon Walker; Shuana and Sharee Hunt; Patricia, Lavorn, Jr. and Frances Merryweather, Tammy and Sherlon Harris; great-grandchildren, Talisha (Isaac) Purdie and Terry Nation, Robyn and Robert III Walker, Marquis and Lauren Walker, Tyler and Bry''anna Johnson, Leland Merryweather, Lamar and Brian Allen Taylor; and ten great-great children; brothers, John, Bernard (Ruby) and Clarence (Jackie) Lewis; sisters, Ophra Blyge and Susie (Peter) Hintzen; sister-in-law, Margaret Lewis; adopted grandchildren, Laura Johnson and Rev. Terry Nation; and host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Home Going Service will be Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Akron Missionary Baptist Church. Calling hours 5 p.m. until 6 p.m., with service immediately following; Pastor William E. Jones, eulogizing and Rev. William McWain, officiating.
