Obituary for Marvin W. Walczak

WALCZAK MARVIN WAYNE WALCZAK, 79, of Medina, and a former Chester Township resident for 31 years, passed away suddenly Friday, June 10, 2016. He was born on April 15, 1937, in Buffalo, New York, to the late John Walczak and the late Lillian Walczak. Marv served four years in the United States Marine Corps. He earned a Bachelor''s degree in electrical engineering from New York University and a Master''s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. Marv''s entire career was in the defense industry, retiring as an engineering manager from the Westinghouse Corp. Naval Systems Division whose major product was the heavyweight torpedo used by the U.S. Navy and some Allies. Marv is survived by his wife Nancy (Suvak) and his loving children, Charlene Sarita Usrey of Wickliffe, Sharon Faith Heslin of Tampa, Fla., Charles Spurgeon Bryant (Barbara) of Carencro, La., John Mark Bryant Sr. (Barbara) of Bryans Rd., Md., and Earlene Carol Ketchaver (Dennis) of Willowick. He was special "Dad" to Catherine Rush of Wickliffe; treasured "Gramps" to Adolfo T. Usrey Jr. (Tricia), Johnathon Heslin, Kristi (Clay) Delahoussaye, Staci (Allen) Comeaux, Richard (Bonnie) Zaskany, Melissa (Bob) Bennett, John Mark (Erin) Bryant Jr., Holly (Matt) Ridgell, Crystal (Chris) Curasi, Amy (Kevin) Goad, Kenny Wayne and Rebecca Cynthia; adored great-grandfather/"Papa" of Adolfo T. III and Josiah Usrey, Alyssa and Cyrus Heslin, Cole and Kenzie Delahoussaye, Ian and Colin Comeaux, Gabby Zaskany, Serena, Mackenzie and Will Bennett; Matty Ridgell; Jamison Bryant; cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 39 years, Anna, and his brother, Neil. Mr. Walczak loved golfing, fishing, bluegrass and being chef of his own kitchen. He also enjoyed traveling, camping and gardening.
