Obituary for Joan Rodgers
JOAN A. RODGERS AUSTINTOWN - Joan A. Rodgers, 86, formerly of Youngstown, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 1, 2016, at Austinwoods Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center. Joan was born Oct. 2, 1929, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Myron and Dorothy Braymer Morrison, and was a lifelong area resident.
A wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker, Joan enjoyed spending time with her family. Her husband, Edward T. Rodgers, whom she married July 10, 1948, passed away July 2, 2001. Joan leaves her son, Gary E. (Sherry) Rodgers of Ellsworth; three daughters, Wendy M. Rodgers and Leslie S. (Bob) Stephens, both of Midlothian, Texas, and Kelley A. Rodgers of Canfield; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two half sisters, Susan Lee of Gardendale, Ala. and Karen (Gene) Clanton of Birmingham, Ala.
Besides her husband, a great-grandson, Jack Thomas Brocker Lemke, and a great-granddaughter, Lea Rose Ward, preceded her in death.
Per Joan’s wishes, arrangements were private. Interment was at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, where Joan was laid to rest next to her husband. In memory of Joan, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oak Dr., Green, OH 44685. Arrangements were entrusted to Kinnick Funeral Home 477 N.
