Obituary for Elizabeth Polish

ELIZABETH L. ''BETTY LOU'' POLISH YOUNGSTOWN – Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Elizabeth L. “Betty Lou” Polish, 84, who died Monday morning, surrounded by her family.

Betty Lou was born Feb. 16, 1932, in Youngstown, the daughter of John and Virginia (Jackson) Murphy. She worked many years as a kitchen worker for various restaurants in the area.

Betty Lou was an avid reader and loved animals. Betty Lou’s husband, Louis J. Polish, whom she married Nov. 3, 1951, died July 19, 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia “Vicci” Polish of Boardman and adopted daughter, Heather Richard of Boardman. Betty Lou was was also preceded in death by her parents and daughter Patricia Ann Savarin. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and Thursday for an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, material tributes take the form of donations to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
