Obituary for Martha E Dorman

MARTHA E. DORMAN DOVER – There will be a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Church in Canfield for Martha E. Dorman, 93, who died Friday morning at Community Hospice in New Philadelphia.
Martha was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Canfield, a daughter of Jacob and Katherine Welsch Haus. She had resided in Ashtabula for 38 years and then briefly in Columbiana before moving to Dover. Martha was employed by True Temper Corp. for 12 years, having retired in 1984.
She was of the Catholic faith and was a former member of the Mother of Sorrows Church in Ashtabula. Martha enjoyed listening to country music and loved animals. She also enjoyed watching “Gaither Homecoming” videos, a gospel group. Her husband of 51 years, Robert C. Dorman, whom she married May 14, 1949, died July 31, 2000.
Martha is survived by her son, Timothy R. Dorman of Ashtabula; her daughters, Cynthia (Robert) Bell of West Jefferson and Paula (Gary) Hostetler of Strasburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 Besides her husband, Martha was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Vera Patterson, Marian Lenhart, Katherine Haus, Joseph Haus, Rosena Calvin, Matthias Haus, Paul Haus, Helen Goerig and Theresa Rask.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to the prayer service at the funeral home.
