Obituary for Rose Marie Bartscher
ROSE MARIE BARTSCHER GIRARD - Rose Marie Bartscher, 80, formerly of Niles, died at 5:40 a.m., Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at her residence.
She was born April 26, 1935, in Ellwood City, Pa., the daughter of Tony and Julia Rocco Dando. She was a 1953 graduate of Niles McKinley High School, employed at Ohio Lamp, Altobelli Real Estate for 20 years, the Niles Employment office for 20 years, and the Niles Area Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, Niles Moose, Red Hat Society, enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, baking, and baking nut rolls.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Roger Bartscher, whom she married May 7, 1955; a son Brian Bartscher and his wife, Sheila, of Mineral Ridge; a daughter, Karen English and her husband, Bob, of Niles; two brothers, Frank Dando and his wife, Verna Ann, of Girard and Michael Dando and his wife, Rosanne, of Newton Falls; two sisters, Rita Brown of Dublin, Calif. and Deborah Barber and her husband, Joseph, of Niles; seven grandchildren, Stephanie and Scott, Melissa, Angelique, Mathew, Bethany and Alex; and one great-grandchild, Brianna. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Dando; and a sister, Judith Martin.
Friends may call Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Joseph Rossi & Sons Funeral Home in Niles, where the Mount Carmel bereavement ministry will conduct prayers at 5:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.
