Obituary for Helen M Philibin

HELEN M. PHILIBIN“Together Again” AUSTINTOWN -
Helen May Philibin passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Dec. 14, 2015. Helen was born Jan. 12, 1922, in Youngstown, the daughter of Emmet and Gladys Clark. She married David l. Philibin in 1944, and shared 61 years of one of those storybook romances, still holding hands and dancing to their favorite songs until his death in 2005.
Helen’s passion in life was her home and family, always putting their needs before her own. She was a meticulous homemaker and especially enjoyed cooking and baking.
Helen leaves behind her devoted son, David R. and Marion Philibin of Canfield; and two loving daughters, Donna and Richard Wear of Austintown and Beth and Joel Hoffman of North Olmstead. She also leaves eight grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, who added much love, pride and joy to her later years. Preceding her in death and waiting to greet her are, her parents; husband; infant twin daughters; sisters Betty, Ruth and Nell; and brothers Charles and Richard. Helen’s family would like to thank the staff of The Inn at Christine Valley for their exceptional care and compassion for four years and the staff of the Humility House for their support these past few weeks.
Private family services will be held at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel on Wednesday, followed by burial at Green Haven Memorial Garden.
