Obituary for James Henry Canutt

Died, at the family residence in Warrensburg, Mo., Saturday, May 11, 1901, J. H. Canutt, aged thirty years. The remains were brought to Olathe Monday andf the funeral held at the M. E. church at 2 o'clock,  conducted by Rev. W. C. Coleman of Warrensburg, assisted by Rev. J. D. M. Buckner of this place, after which the body was laid to rest in the Olathe cemetery. Mr. Cole man's remarks were very gratifying to the friends of the deceased. He told how he had given himself to Christ and how peaceful and happy his last days were. He said that he had visited him many times during his sickness and that the day before he died he expressed himself as ready to go, stating there was nothing between himself and "his God. "Jimmie," as we all called him, was born in Olathe and was an exceptionally bright young man. He was a printer by trade and at one time he and his father, Henry Canutt, published a Republican paper in this city.
