Obituary for Charles Benjamin Jewett

CHARLES JEWETT

Charles Jewelt, was born in Antioch, Illinois, October 7th, 1850 and died Saturday, February 19th, in Pagesa Springs, Colorado, at the age of sixty-six years. He died very suddenly of heart failure He had been ill for several years end was unable to work for about a month before his death. He was on his way to board a train for Denver when he dropped dead on the street

He came to Kansas in 1859, bring then nine years of age.

He was employed in the Price & Welch grocery store here for ten years. Before leaving Olathe, about thirty years ago, he married Miss Mollie France, who died a number of years ago.

He was married to Miss Lib Allison, also of Olathe, and she died three years ago. As stated last week, the funeral was held from the residence of his sister, Mrs. James Lancaster, on Wednesday afternoon, and burial made in the Olathe cemetery.

He leaves two sons, Walter Jewett, of Denver; and Leon Jewett, of Los Angeles, California; and' four sisters, Mrs. Nellie Hitchcock, of San Francisco; Mrs. Nettie Hedges, of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. L. A. Blake, of Kansas City, and Mrs. Alice Lamasney, of Olathe; and two brothers, John Jewett, of Roundup, Montana; nnd Glen Jewett, of Beaver City, Nebraska.
