Retired farmer, widely known at Olathe, Dies in Oklahoma

Walter F. Baker, 64 years old, a widely known Johnson County farmer who retired a month ago, was found dead in a tourist cabin at Miami, Ok., Saturday afternoon, according to word received today at Olathe, Kas. Sheriff Emmett Pitt of Johnson County, who contacted Oklahoma authorities, said Mr. Baker died of heart disease sometime Friday night. 

A brother of Robert Baker, a former Johnson County probate judge, now of Haviland, Kas., Walter F. Baker was born and reared in the Belleview community, ten miles northeast of Olathe. Last November 4, he held a farm sale, disposing of his farm equipment. He retained ownership of a 280-acre farm however. He and his wife had been in Phoenix, Ariz., visiting a son, Dale M. Baker. Last week he returned to Olathe on business. He was on the way back to Phoenix when he was stricken. 

Besides his widow, his son, and brother, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Edith Baldwin, Dallas, Tex. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday at the Julien chapel at Olathe. Burial Will be in Olathe Cemetery.
