Obituary for Frank J Olzak

FRANK OLZAK AUSTINTOWN TOWNSHIP – Frank Olzak, 92, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at Austinwoods Nursing Center.
Frank was born Aug. 22, 1923, in Worthington, Pa., the son of the late Andrew and Pearl (Sobczak) Olzak. Frank retired in 1986, from the Greyhound Bus Line, where he had been a driver for more than 40 years with an excellent record. He was a sergeant with the U.S. Marines during World War II.

He was an avid sportsman, outdoorsman, hunter and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Frank was a “jack of all trades,” who enjoyed taking on the task of any new project, trying his best and learning new things.

Frank leaves three children, Nancy Jackson of Zephyrhills, Fla., Laurie Hernandez of Austintown and Kevin Olzak of Austintown; one daughter-in-law, Claudia Olzak of Austintown; eight grandchildren; and; 13 great-grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Catherine Swartzlander, and Cecilia Edwards; as well as two brothers, Andrew and John Olszak. Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, the former Jean Johnston, whom he married June 14, 1953. She passed away on Dec. 3, 2012. He was also preceded in death by one son, Brian Olzak; and three sisters, Gertrude Flecher, Martha Febinger, and Mary Ann Southworth.
