She was born August 6, 1937, in Randolph, Ohio, to Raymond George and Ruth (Wiley) Kissel. Janis lived in many different towns in the area including Hartville, Suffield, and Akron. She was Catholic in faith and worked as a high school business teacher. Janis began her career at St. Mary''s Girls School, then Garfield High School, and retired from Kenmore High School in 1995. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Beta Sorosis, and the Junior Tuesday Club. Janis was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. Throughout her life, Janis'' main focus was always her family, especially her grandchildren. Janis is survived by her children, William (Deb) Marshall of Fort Mill, SC, Kimberly (Del) Turnbull of Ravenna, and Erik (Jane) Marshall of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; as well as her siblings, John (Rosemary) Kissel of Akron, Jane (Sonny) Moore of Scottsdale, AZ, Joe (Sue) Kissel of Rootstown, and Joni (Danny) Barry of Rootstown. Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren, Alison Marshall Squires, Corey Turnbull, Brent Marshall, Kyle Turnbull, Brian Marshall, Jared Marshall; and her great-granddaughter, Kinsey Squires; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Janis was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Marshall on December 25, 1997; her parents; her brother, Jim Kissel; and her dear niece, Jennifer Jane Kissel. Her final resting place will be Chestnut Hills Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls. A Celebration of Janis'' Life will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 776 N.
