Mills, significant other), Rick (Kathy) Hastings, Amy (Jim) Steinheiser; and brother, Joe Garner; her grandchildren, Clint Rankin, Sheri (Damian) Asbury, Roni (Daniel) Lewis, soon to arrive, Baby Lewis, Issa Habash, Erica Thomas, Maddy, Adam, Savanna and Rachael Hastings, and Krystal Kidd. She adored her great-grandkids, Sal, Landon, Chloe, Konner and Ryder. She also leaves behind so many other nieces, nephews, friends and family. Patricia "Pat" A. Hastings (Croghan). Pat is now a feisty, ornery angel in Heaven. She received her wings on Monday in the wee hours of the morning. Pat was such a high-spirited fighter who gave her family and the medical community a run for their money. Pat had a contagious laugh that was hard to ignore. She possessed a wicked sense of humor. She enjoyed a cold Miller Lite, good food, and an occasional ride on the back of a Harley, She spent many years camping, boating, fishing, water skiing, loved the beach, Canada and dogs. She was active in North Hill pee-wee sports and cheerleading. She was also a Girl Scout leader. Pat also enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table for a good old fashioned heated debate about politics and government. She was active with the Democratic Party and campaigned for several candidates. She was a faithful listener of WNIR talk radio. Although she had many opinions, she never passed judgement on anyone. Pat graduated from Akron North High in 1955. She held various positions with the state and county. She retired from the Ohio Dept. of building code where she was a secretary. While she was employed in the O''Casek building she noticed the parking garage remained heated 24 hours a day. No one used it after business hours. She went to the powers that be to get permission to open the garage up to the homeless in the evening. Pat loved the Lord, her children, and all her grandkids. She never met a stranger and was kind to so many. Pat was preceded in death by the love of her life, Ron Hastings; her baby boy, Michael Scott; her parents, Marion and Cre Croghan; and brother, Rich Croghan. She leaves awesome memories to her children. Super special thank you to Dr. Mike Chandler with Summa Pulmonology, Dr. Cindy DiLauro, and Sarah, the speech therapist at Pebble Creek, whom Pat respected with admiration. Funeral service will be Friday, 2 p.m. at Hennessy-Bagnoli-Moore Funeral Home, 936 N. Main St., Akron (corner of N. Main St. and Mildred Ave.). Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pat''s final resting place will be Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers (and she means this), Pat requests donations to "The Haven of Rest", "Celebration Church" on Dan Street, or " ". But most of all, she wants to remind everyone to "Pay It Forward".
