Barbara Council
Barbara Council was born June 13, 1939, in Akron, Ohio to Wesley Ingram Sr. and Juanita (Veal) Ingram. She transitioned from labor to reward on July 25, 2015 at the blessed age of 76, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of the Akron community. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was employed by American General Insurance and also worked in the Children''s Home. She was very savvy with computers. She liked to use her computer to research law cases and history.
She was preceded in death by former husband, Walter Council Sr.; father, Wesley Ingram, Sr.; and mother, Juanita (Veal) Ingram; stepmother, Mary Ingram Brunson; son, Walter Council Jr.; brothers, Wesley Ingram Jr. and Albert Ingram; sisters, Ann Copeland and Brenda Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Aaron (Sheila) Burns of Norwalk, Ohio, Michael (Tanisha) Bayless and Maurice (Celena) Bayless, both of Tampa, Florida; Gary (Sakinah) and Daniel Council of Akron, Ohio; daughters, Cynthia (Ricardo) Robinson and Sharon Council of Akron, Ohio, and Theresa Bayless of Columbus, Ohio; brothers, Edward Averiette of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Bernie Ingram of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Victoria Dent and Rose Craig of Akron, Ohio; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. Barbara loved her family and will forever be cherished and truly missed.
Celebration of Barbara''s Life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Ave., Akron, Ohio 44306. Family will receive friends from 12 until time of service, Bishop Marc Neal officiating. Interment at Mt. Peace Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences can be sent to 345 Lookout Ave., Akron, Ohio 44310.
