Obituary for Dorothy Kantz

                                                                                                                                                                         Dorothy "Dot" (Mehalic) Kantz, 83, a longtime Willowick resident went to be with the Lord Saturday and be reunited with her husband John of 63 years, May 30, 2015 at UHHS Geauga Regional Hospital, Chardon. She was born February 18, 1932 in Montgomery Twp., PA. Mrs. Kantz was a homemaker and a pre-school teacher at Painesville Nazarene church. She was Co-founder of Consumer Tire. Dot was very active in Maplegrove Alliance Church. She was an artist and she enjoyed painting, doing her ceramics, crafts and flower arranging. Dorothy is survived by her children, Al (Debbie) Almasi, Bruce (Charlotte) Kantz, David (Sherry) Kantz, DD (Mark) Coley and Dale (Margaret) Kantz; ten loving grandchildren; and nine loving great grandchildren; and siblings, Robert, Ron and Tom Mehalic, Jim (Bertha) Mehalic, Shirley (Donald) Smith and Sandy (George) Fischer. She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Dan" Kantz; parents, Stephen and Sarah Mehalic; siblings, Mame Korney, Flora Fye, Donna Adie, Joe and Dave Mehalic. A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015 at Maplegrove Alliance Church, 36400 Maplegrove Rd., Willoughby, OH 44094. Private family inurnment will be held at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Mentor, OH 44060. -
