Faye Lenora Landrum Obituary
Faye Lenora Landrum
Faye Lenora Landrum went home to be with the Lord she loved on April 22, 2015.
Her life was a testimony of her Christian faith to all who knew her, and especially to her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 1994; and is survived by sons, and daughter-in-laws, Steve and Laura Landrum of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Gary and Dana Landrum of Pataskala, Ohio; grandchildren, Zak, Gwen, Charity, and Janessa; and two great-grandchildren, Eli and Keira.
Faye was born in Skowhegan, Maine on September 27, 1927. She graduated from Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing in 1948 and from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida in 1952. She worked part-time as an R.N. for 40 years, retiring in 1989.
Creative writing was Faye''s passion, and over her lifetime she published over 300 articles and short stories for children and adults. She is also the author and co-author of five separate books.
As a member of Arlington Memorial Baptist Church in Akron, Ohio, Faye was a Sunday school teacher for 20 years, she served as a deaconess, and she led a weekly Bible study for women in her home for many years.
In 1998, she moved to Pataskala, Ohio, to be near her son, Gary and his family. While there, she was a member of Jersey Baptist Church, where she served as a greeter and was in charge of the tract ministry. In 2010, she moved to Grand Rapids, Mich. to be near her son, Steve and his family. She resided there until her passing.
Friends are invited to call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Adams Mason Funeral Home, (791 E. Market Street, Akron). A funeral service will be conducted in the Adams Mason chapel at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Private interment will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park in Cuyahoga Falls.
A separate memorial service will be held later this year on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Jersey Baptist Church, 13260 Morse Road, Pataskala, Ohio (740-927-1859).
It was Faye''s wishes that, if desired, memorial contributions may be made to Jersey Baptist Church.
