Mildred A. Ponder
Mildred Allgood Ponder passed away into eternal peace on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Mildred was born October 9, 1929 in LaFayette, Ga., to the late Marshall Sr. and Annie Daisy Allgood.
A long-time resident of Akron, she most recently moved to Canton, Ohio to be close to son/caregiver Ron.
Mildred was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred, Sr.; son, Eddie Ponder; granddaughter, Mauri Peoples; brothers, Marshall, Jr., Johnny, Freddie, Tommy and Billy Allgood; sisters, Louise Underwood and Annabelle Ponder.
She is survived by sons, Fred, Jr. (Pat) of Atlanta, Ga. and Ronald (Cecelia) Ponder of Canton, Ohio; daughters, Frances Boyer of Akron, and Maria Peoples of Atlanta, Ga.; and daughter-in-law, Gisele Ponder of Akron; brother, Bob Allgood of LaFayette, Ga.; grandsons, Johnnie Boyer, Jr., Ronald III and Dexter (Caitlyn) Ponder; and granddaughters, Faraca, Nicole, Courtney and Briaunna Ponder; seven great-grandchildren; beloved aunt, Frances Stevens; special friend, Artie Lee; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of life will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 12 noon at The House of The Lord, 1650 Diagonal Rd., Akron, OH 44320, Pastor Dennis Butts eulogizing. Viewing from 11 a.m. until time of service. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. Procession will form at 1077 Emma Ave., Akron, OH 44302 and condolences may be sent to 7988 Garnett Ave., N. Canton, OH 44720.
