Obituary for Leona Mae Snyder

LEONA MAE SNYDER

CANFIELD - Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, April 17, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Canfield Chapel, 65 N. Broad St., for Leona Mae Snyder, 87, who died early Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Leona was born Sept. 26, 1927, in Warren, a daughter of Ralph Davis and Edith Mae Butts.

She graduated from Canfield High School and was a member of the Smith Corners United Methodist Church.

Leona loved country music and enjoyed attending the local country music concerts and square dancing. She collected teddy bears and also loved doing ceramics and crocheting. Leona had made many afghans and ceramics for friends and family.

She leaves her husband, Henry Arlis Snyder, whom she married Aug. 18, 1947; two sons, Ron (Chris) Snyder of Columbus and Brian (Becky) Snyder of Ellsworth; six grandchildren, Melissa, Erin, Payton, Nolan, Samantha and Reese; and one brother, Eddie Davis of Benton, Pa.

Besides her father, Ralph Davis, and her mother, Edith Sterrett, Leona was preceded in death by her daughter, Joann Harmon; and her stepfather, Ralph Feisley.

Friends may call on Friday from noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests material tributes take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512 or to the memorial fund of the Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, OH 44515.
