James Y. Gordon, 93, died Saturday, January 10, 2015, after a brief illness.
He was born in Akron, Ohio on March 1, 1921. He was a graduate of Garfield High School, Kent State University, The University of Akron Law School, and was a Marine Veteran. He retired after 30 years from State Auto as an insurance adjuster. He was a former longtime member of the Akron YMCA Athletic Club and the City Center, where he enjoyed racquetball and his many friendships.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, brother, and first wife, Florine. He is survived by his devoted wife, Roberta C. "Bobbie"; his son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Jan Teter; his sister, Martha; four grandchildren, Kelly McCluskey, Chuck Teter, Mike Teter and David Keiger; and five great-grandchildren. We would like to thank their good friends, Chris and Margie, for everything they have done for Dad and Bobbie.
We will miss you, Dad.
