Obituary for James J Kenneally

YOUNGSTOWN – There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, celebrated by the Rev. Edward Noga, for James J. Kenneally, 99, who passed away Wednesday morning at Crandal Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

James was born March 12, 1915, in Youngstown, a son of James and Mary Brogan Kenneally.

He attended East High School and worked at Republic Steel as a stationary engineer for over 37 1Ž2 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Steel Workers Union Local No. 1331.

His wife, Irene L. Soltis, whom he married July 14, 1937, died on Aug. 13, 2009, after 72 years of marriage.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Janice (Phillip) Courtney of Alliance; two sons, Lawrence J. (Elizabeth) Kenneally of Brooklyn, Mich. and James P. (Marlene) Keneally of Wellington, Fla.; two sisters, Veronica Jeswald of Largo, Fla. and Alice Kenneally of Boardman; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Kenneally; a son, Terrence M. Kenneally; five brothers, Lawrence, William, Robert, Charles and Vincent Kenneally; and five sisters, Ellen Kenneally, Mary Rembowski, Elizabeth Pochiro, Agnes Mounts and Margaret DeSalvo.

Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 to 10:50 a.m. on Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, 4700 Market St. in Boardman.

James’ family would like to thank the staff at Crandal Medical Center and Hospice of the Valley for the loving care and compassion shown to James.
