Obituary for Mary L Sedmak

AUSTINTOWN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for George S. Sedmak, 93, who passed away Monday evening, Jan. 5, 2015, at Hospice House.

George was born July 3, 1921, in Youngstown, a son of the late Michael and Theresa Sedmak.

George served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a truck driver for Commercial Lovelace, from where he retired in 1982. George was an avid bowler until he was 86 years old. He enjoyed couples card clubs with his wife. George also enjoyed gardening, birds, and watching football. His greatest love was for his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

George is survived by his wife, the former Mary L. Paglia, whom he married June 17, 1950; four daughters, Maggie Sedmak of Boardman, Kathy (James) Burgy of Austintown, Sally (Donald) Hilbert of Austintown, and Susan (Robert) Reardon of Boardman; three sons, Michael (Kathy) Sedmak of Tipp City, Stanley Sedmak of Youngstown, and George Sedmak II of Austintown; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Urichich of Poland.

George was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Santisi, Ann Camardo, and Kate Rago and four brothers, Tom Blazek, Walter, Paul and Michael Sedmak.
