Robert J. Payne
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Robert J. Payne, 78, passed away unexpectedly November 13, 2014.
He was born in Fry, Ga. and resided in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio for the past 52 years. Robert attended Rome High School in Georgia and went on to receive an Engineering degree from University of Akron. He served his country in the U.S.A.F, retiring from Continental General Tire.
Survived by his wife, Mary; children, Joseph (Patty), Raymond (Adel), Della (Frank) Sailer, Luther (Carol) and Mary (Robert); eight grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters; sister, Barbara (Steve) Mohac; niece, Gina (Dan) Page.
Friends may call from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18 at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Rev. Dave Weyrick will be officiating. The American Legion Charles Faust Post 281 will give military honors.
In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to Boy Scouts of America Great Trail Council, 1601 S Main St., Akron, OH, 44301 and The American Legion Post 281, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
