Obituary for John E Orr

LIBERTY TOWNSHIP - There will be services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home, for John E. Orr, 66, who passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center.

John was born March 7, 1948, in Youngstown, a son of Ray J. and Marion Stafford Orr.

He was a 1966 graduate of Hubbard High School, and was of the Presbyterian faith. John was a machinist at Republic Steel/LTV/WCI for 40 years and retired from R&G Steel of Warren in 2010. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, classic cars, motor sports, NASCAR and model trains.

He will be sadly missed by his son, Benjamin Orr of Youngstown; his daughter, Emily Orr of South Carolina; and two grandchildren. He also leaves his sister, Audrey L. Frost of Hubbard, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray J. Orr Jr. and Edgar Allen Orr.

There will be calling hours on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, Sept. 4, 2014, one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home.

John will be laid to rest at Green Haven Memorial Gardens.
