Obituary for Richard A Centa Sr

Richard A. Centa, 84, passed away September 27, 2014, at his home.
He was born November 25, 1929, in Cleveland.
Rich was a U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran. He was a resident of Macedonia for six years, after previously residing in Cuyahoga Falls for ten and Richmond Heights for 44 years.
He was a member of St. Noel Catholic Church, a previous member of St. Felicitas Catholic Church, Collinwood Memories and Par Busters Golf League. A graduate of Collinwood High School, Rick was a carpenter tradesman and worked in construction. He enjoyed bowling, model airplanes, the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Cavaliers, listening to Vince Mastro, Perry Como, Andy Williams and Bing Crosby but he especially loved playing golf. He will be remembered by many as a competitive, giving man who both worked hard and played hard.
Survivors are his son, Richard (wife Ellen) of Richfield; daughter, Cynthia Capone (husband Michael) of Spring Hill, Fla.; grandchildren, Eric and Hallie (fiancé Stephen Shubeck); sisters, Betty Witkowski and Helen Elcanick (husband John); and he was a dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Ann (nee Porcello); parents, Anthony and Judith (nee Marinick); brothers, Edward, Raymond, Roland and Harry Centa; and sisters, Celeste Dietz, Sylvia Centa, and Adele Schmidt.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 2, 2014, at St. Noel Catholic Church, 35200 Chardon Rd., Willoughby Hills, OH 44094. Fr. Andy Turner will be officiating. Entombment following at Western Reserve Memorial Garden Cemetery, 11521 Chillicothe Rd., Chesterland, OH 44026.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Rich from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday
