Obituary for Porsia T Pennel

AUSTINTOWN – Porsia T. Pennel, 68, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 20, 1946, in Youngstown, the daughter of Thomas and Lena (DeMarco) DePinto.

She was a 1965 graduate of East High School and worked for Hills and Walmart department stores. She was a member of St. Joseph Church. Porsia was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who always put her family above all else. She especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. She also loved reading and going to Mountaineer.

Porsia will always be lovingly remembered by her husband, John, whom she married on May 9, 1970; daughter Andrea Correia of Austintown; son Frank (Amanda) Pennel of Gainesville, Va.; six grandchildren, Kyle and twins Caitlin and Dylan Correia, and Peyton, Emma and Elijah Pennel; two brothers, Nick (Carol) DePinto of Austintown, and Lenny (Marlene) DePinto of Liberty; three sisters, Delores (Clyde) Rhoades of Austintown, Theresa Campana of Hubbard and Debbie (Mike) Cancio of Bristow, Va.; and sister-in-law Donna DePinto of Youngstown.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by brother Thomas DePinto; and brother-in-law Giulio Campana.

Friends may call today, Aug. 29, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Brothers & Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Ave. in Boardman.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens, 3495 S. Canfield-Niles Road in Canfield, with Porsia’s son, Pastor Frank Pennel, celebrating the service for Porsia.

The Pennel family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Southern Care Hospice for the kind and compassionate care shown to Porsia and also Community Home Medical for their support. Special thanks to Donna DePinto and Patty DePinto for the love and care shown to Porsia and the family.
